I’m an experienced UKCP registered psychotherapist, counsellor and hypnotherapist working in private practice and at The Abbey Practice and Combe Down Branch Surgery in Bath and Fulcrum House in Bristol.
I provide a professional, confidential and a comfortable place in which to discuss personal concerns and issues and provide support in times of crisis. I have a great deal of experience and expertise in helping people with depression, chronic low mood, symptoms of depression such as stress and anxiety, and stress and anxiety related conditions.
For some years now I’ve been running mindfulness courses that are designed to help prevent low mood/depression and components of depression such as anxiety and stress. This work has helped me develop a particular expertise in the area of depression and depression-related conditions such as stress and anxiety.
About how I work
We can get a great deal of relief from distress and unhappiness by talking through problems with an understanding, experienced, supportive and non-judgemental therapist. Sometimes there are underlying issues affecting how we see, think feel and experience ourselves. More complicated or entrenched issues may require deeper work to explore how experiences and patterns established in the past are affecting us in the present.
I use an integrative approach and work with clients both long and short-term. CBT and mindfulness-based approaches form the core of my practice but my approach will vary depending upon your needs, wishes and preferences. I’ve found this flexible, balanced and holistic approach to be helpful in alleviating and preventing distress, stress, unhappiness, anxiety, depressed states and related conditions.
I am an experienced UKCP registered psychotherapist. I have 15 years experience in training, education and management. I have worked at Bath Spa University, Wiltshire County Council, Wiltshire College and in the inner city areas of London, Bristol and Birmingham.
In addition I have particular experience working with loss of confidence and self esteem difficulties, the impact of bullying at home, school and the workplace and chronic, cumulative and subtle childhood trauma.
Hello, I’m Rachael and I am a Relational Integrative Counsellor offering short and long term therapy to adults in the centre of Bath. But what does this actually mean?
Well, the relational aspect of my approach means that I am interested in the dynamics of the relationship we create between ourselves, together with the relationships you form outside of our counselling relationship, with others and we [...]
